Fat, fat, hooray!

Healthy fats – use them, enjoy them!  Avocado, nuts, nut butter, olives, extra virgin olive oil, oily fish, pasture-raised organic dairy, seeds.

These help us to feel fuller for longer, help balance our blood sugar, provide energy and provide important fat-soluble vitamins A,D,E and K.  Some also provide important Omega-3 and -6 fatty acids for brain and nerve health. What could be bad?

So, sprinkle a few flax/pumpkin/sunflower seeds on your oatmeal.  Throw some avocado on your green salad.  Make a simple yummy dressing with balsamic vinegar, extra-virgin olive oil, a dash of dijon mustard and drop of maple syrup.  Have an apple with peanut or almond butter or a handful of mixed nuts for a snack on-the-go.

Make a delicious and easy dinner of salmon fillets with just salt and pepper wrapped in foil, baked in the oven served alongside some roasted vegetables.

Enjoy a yummy dessert of mixed berries with a little whipped organic cream.

I am willing to bet if you start incorporating some of these into your life you will feel more satisfied, have fewer cravings for carbs and have improved energy levels.  Delicious AND healthy!
